I had planned and created a poster for a fun fashion shoot with the service users where I would take in a portable studio, props ect and take photo's, edit and print for them to frame and keep.
After speaking to one of the ladies who organises events she said there was a lady who comes in from time to time to do the service users hair and make-up and that she would find out if she could come in to join the two together and make a day of it. unfortunately she isn't available until the end of May. I decided it would be better to wait and do it properly than to rush it for the sake of it, especially considering my placement it near the end and I will be continuing to work there anyway (today the volunteer coordinator mentioned today that I could have 6 week volunteer training if I liked, something I think I will peruse as it is more skills to develop that will be of use in the future, it also means I could have more involvement with MASH)
There were some service users who wanted their picture taking prior to the 'official fashion shoot day' - this was good as it acted almost as a mini test shoot and meant more of the services users expressed an interest as to when the shoot would be taking place so that they 'could make sure they came in'.
One member of staff said it worked well also, in order to see how they all reacted to the idea (fortunately it was a very positive reaction which will make the staff even more keen to help make it a successful day)
The girls asked if I could make them look like 'those instagram pictures' - 'something a bit funky' So I created something a bit creative which they have been given prints off. Obviously they will still be taking part in the full day event over the next few weeks (for this i plan on taking in a studio set u and some props too.)
Again, with these images. I am only uploading a few examples where I have blanked out the faces.
