Emails MASH

As soon as we were told about the next assignment and it involving the opportunity to go on a work placement I began sending out emails and making phone calls. I applied to many galleries ect however as I already regularly at the Whitworth Art Gallery, helping with their adult learning programs I really wanted to do something a little different with this opportunity.

Thinking about my future aspirations to go on to teach, and my passion for community work and charity, in addition to my own photographic interest i started looking into art therapy and other charities and organisations, mainly ones working with vulnerable people, and or people with mental health, drug and alcohol abusive tenancies ect. I came across a company called START Manchester who I rang and spoke to, however they do not take people on for work placements, nor do they employ students or recruit student volunteers, I came across a company, also based in Manchester, called MASH (Manchester Action Street Health) who work with prostitues in Manchester, offering an array of services, including recreational activities, workshops and classes.

I called up and spoke to a lady who advised I emailed the details of my inquiry, which I did. Below are the emials. After these two initial emails, all communication was over the phone and or in person.
