staff portrait - plans and ideas

One of the main things I noticed about the previous website that MASH has (currently still in use whilst new one is being built) was the obvious lack images which I was there mainly to rectify. But additionally the quality of the staff portraits that were on there and they had planned to transfer across to the new one. In my proposal I suggested re-shooting all the images of staff and trustees as to establish some consistency and quality with them.

This is going to be a difficult task as all members of staff attend a various different times and some aren't permanently based at the center. I have been put in contact with the lady who over sees the attendance of staff so she can help me organise this. Additionally there are over 100 volunteers at the center and although they have made clear it is unlikely I will be able to get them all I am to photograph as many as possible.

For the staff portraits I have suggested that letting everyone know the days they will be been taken so they can ensure they are happy to be photographed on that day (no excuses of hair and make-up ect, which being a mainly female dominated place seems to be a concern)

(some screen shots of the current site with staff images) As you can see the colour balance, framing and quality varies. I aim to utilise a plain white wall in the center and some basic lighting set up to achieve a much more professional and consistent series of portraits)

I also put forward an idea to also capture a more fun portrait reflective of the staff and their personalities which I aim to make into a large photo grid for display in the center. I feel this will make the staff appear (in print format) much more approachable than the formal ones which are often used. (however the formal ones will still be captured for ID cards and the website ect)

I have come up with an idea for a mode of display on the website which could potentially be used and or adapted. I have created a Polaroid template in photoshop and using a image found on google have put together some ideas.

I thought could be a nice touch as the new site has an almost pin board feel to it, however I am not entirely sure about the cork board but as an experiment it was a worthwhile exercise, I do like the Polaroid idea though.
