Plans

Tasks -

- Updated graphics for website (EG - Activity timetable. Annual report ect)

Participate in various art therapy and framing work shops already being held at MASH (become involved in the preparation, organisation and running of) Must identify one of these sessions, which to comment on, in regards to their brief and how it is fulfilled, exploring potential constraints and reviewing how the person in charge of the session overcomes issues and interprets their brief.

- Gather good quantity of documentary photographs during my time, all for use by MASH (website, advertising ect)

- Series of portraits of service users (creatively composed as to not reveal their identity)

Whilst at the center, after being told portraits were possible provided they didn't reveal the identity of the service users, I thought about ways of doing so. I knew from the start I was uninterested in the cliche'd pictorial representation of prostitution (often images of a woman in a short skirt on street corners at night)
A few of the girls came in for brews, and the reality of the normality of them as people struck me.
I am planning on gathering a series of 'portraits' of the girls brews.
Often the service users come in to the center simply to sit down, chill out, have a chat and a brew.
I think, considering their circumstances and the nature of the work, these images will reinforce this idea of equality and stand a reminder that the service users are just normal people like everyone else (who may have preconceived ideas)

- Series of portraits of staff members and trustees 2 images of each person, one fun and one formal and traditional. (ASK if certain format is required. Portrait/ Landscape. Square/Rectangle)

I get the impression there are many more staff members now than what are visible on the site. Additionally all the images vary in quality and style. I plan to take in a studio set up, or utilise a plain wall (should one be available) and lighting to ensure all the portraits are of the same technical standard. Additional to these formal portraits I plan to encourage staff members to pose for a second photograph which will be more fun and reflective of their personality. These could then be displayed together, or maybe the formal portraits would only need to be used on ID cards ect.
Alternatively the fun portraits would make a nice grid print for decoration in the center.

- Attend a minimum of one street outreach session to capture documentary images of staff and surroundings.

- Run minimum of one photography/art and design related work shop (ideally this would result in a mini ‘in house’ exhibition which would also be photographically documented)
Potentially work with another session co-ordinator such as the framing session in preparation for the a mini exhibition. (accompanied by book which I will design and construct, May only be used in digital format pending costs)

- Depending on time, potential to record some small clips of video footage, maybe staff members talking about services (to be discussed)

- Aim to perform to a high standard in order to acquire a reference/ performance report from staff members at MASH where my productivity will be evaluated for grading purposes (additional to the standard report).
